There are many great places to eat in Barcelona, but here are three of our favorites. We recommend to rent a car in Barcelona airport to go and test directly the great catalan food on your arrival !
1. Cal Pep
This small, unassuming restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The menu is simple – just a few tapas and raciones – but the food is delicious and affordable. Try the pulpo a la gallega (octopus with potatoes) or the gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp).
2. La Boqueria
This famous market is a great place to find fresh, local produce as well as delicious tapas. There are dozens of stalls to choose from, so take your time and sample everything! Some of our favorites include the fresh fruit juices, the paella, and the chorizo sandwiches.
3. El Xampanyet
This tiny champagne bar is a hidden gem in Barcelona. It’s not fancy, but the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Try the tapas platter or the montaditos (small sandwiches). And of course, don’t forget to order a glass of bubbly!
